In fact, there are many reasons why mobile phone TF cards cannot be read. In order to facilitate our investigation and handling of this problem, several common situations have been summarized. By comparing these situations, we can check whether our own mobile phone is experiencing such problems and refer to corresponding solutions to try to solve the problem of mobile phone TF cards being unreadable.
TF card is not clean
Many users do not pay attention to the maintenance of their electronic products and do not maintain their TF cards well enough. The metal area of the TF card may be contaminated with dust or oil, causing poor contact in the card slot and sometimes inability to read.
Solution: Check if the metal area of the TF card is dull or speckled. If so, wipe it off with alcohol or water and blow dry.
Virus in TF card
At present, there are many software or games on the smartphone application market that contain viruses. If the TF card is infected, it will cause it to be unable to read normally.
Solution: Connect a card reader to the computer and use antivirus software to organize it. If it still cannot be processed, format the TF card.
TF card damaged
This is easy to determine. When using a card reader to connect to a computer, if it can display normally, it means that the TF card is intact. If it cannot be read, it means that the TF card is now damaged.
The card slot is being squeezed and even deformed
Nowadays, there are more and more ultra-thin models on the market, and their card slot designs are becoming more and more clever. If non original batteries are used, the card slot may be squeezed due to thickness exceeding the specifications, resulting in the inability of the phone TF card to read.
Solution: Try replacing the original battery.
The metal wire in the card slot is rusted or bent.
Many TF cards in mobile phones support hot swapping, and frequent insertion and extraction of TF cards can cause excessive bending or rusting of the metal wire in the card slot.
Solution: Carefully check if the metal wire in the slot is bent or rusted. If it is bent, use a needle to lift the metal wire down; If it rusts, it can be cleaned.
Mobile phone issue
Although the probability of this situation occurring is relatively small, there are also cases where the TF card of the phone cannot be read due to phone problems, and it can only be sent for repair.
Selection of TF card formatting
The difference between FAT32 and exFAT
FAT32 format: a traditional file format on the Windows platform with good compatibility, but the disadvantage is that it has a limit on file size and does not support files larger than 4GB. So, for many large games, image files, compressed files, and videos, it is impossible to copy them. When formatting micro SD6.1 (TF) cards now, FAT32 is still the default operation, and the same applies to Windows 10, mostly due to conservative compatibility considerations.
Due to its good compatibility, FAT32 can be used on many older devices, such as some older dash cams MP3, Game consoles, etc., have better compatibility than exFAT and NTFS.
PG brand 16GB and 32GB TF cards both use FAT32 format.
exFAT format: The most suitable file format for micro SD6.1 (TF) cards, tailored by Microsoft for flash micro SD6.1 (TF), with advanced performance and technical support, as well as optimized protection for flash memory, which will not cause unnecessary damage. It is simpler than NTFS, larger than the single file supported by FAT32, and supported by systems starting from Vista.
The main benefits include: enhanced interoperability between desktop/laptop and mobile devices, maximum 16GB per file, improved space allocation in the remaining space allocation table, up to 65536 files in the same directory, and support for access control.
Due to the suitability of exFAT format for high-capacity micro SD6.1 (TF) cards, it may not be compatible with some older devices. exFAT is compatible with most modern devices, such as game consoles, drones, Android devices, IP cameras, smart wearables, etc. If compatibility is not possible, it may be due to your device being an old-fashioned device. You can format the micro SD6.1 (TF) card on a computer and choose FAT32 format.
