Nowadays, the short video industry is developing rapidly, and many short video enthusiasts hope to produce more eye-catching works. As the saying goes, to do well in advance, one must first sharpen their tools. The filming equipment needs to have sufficient stable performance in terms of performance in order to provide excellent content effects.
Especially now, most people use mobile phones to shoot videos, and shooting a video often requires a high capacity. After shooting a few videos, the memory may be insufficient, and not only due to the size of the capacity, but also due to quality issues. Some storage cards are prone to lag when shooting high-definition videos, so we have increasingly high requirements for the capacity and quality of our shooting equipment.
In order to meet market demand, CCSS PG brand has launched the Saturn series of self-developed controller ultra high speed professional memory cards.
The front of the TF card is marked with many of its features, including V30 video speed and A2 performance level, which can bring unparalleled advantages in shooting 4K videos and software acceleration, smooth to the end. The PG Saturn series ultra high speed TF card adopts the independently developed LPDC ENGINE main control, supporting DDR 200 read and write transfer speed, with read and write speeds up to 180MB/s and 160MB/s, and the file transfer speed is impressive.
At present, the PG Saturn series high-speed professional memory cards offer three capacities of 256GB, 512GB, and the industry-leading 1TB. The 256GB version we tested this time has theoretical maximum sequential read and write speeds of 180MB/s and 160MB/s, respectively. It meets the U3, V30, and A2 standards, which means that the continuous recording video speed is not less than 30MB/s. U3 belongs to the UHS level standard, requiring a minimum write speed of not less than 30MB/s, which is sufficient for 4K video shooting.
It should be noted that CCSS PG Saturn series SA256A/512A/1TB high-speed professional memory card is an UHS-I standard memory card. To achieve the highest read and write speed, a card reader compatible with DDR200 mode is required. Common USB3.2 card readers are limited by the UHS-I SDR104 bus, and the theoretical speed cannot exceed 104MB/s. To fully utilize its performance, a card reader that supports UHS-l (DDR 200) protocol is required. Of course, if not available, common card readers can also be compatible, but speed may be affected.
In terms of protection, the PG Saturn series SA256A/512A/1TB high-speed professional memory card has multiple characteristics including cold resistance, heat resistance, water resistance, impact resistance, shock resistance, drop resistance, static electricity resistance, and X-ray resistance. The gold finger can be inserted and removed 10000 times, which is enough to cover the product lifecycle.
Next, we will enter the testing section
Theoretical testing
For memory cards, consumers have always been most concerned about performance and reliability. However, under the impact of assembled cards and miscellaneous cards, the current Chinese memory card market has become chaotic. How does PG perform as a young brand? Firstly, let's take a look at the CrystalDiskMark test. Using a micro SD card reader that supports DDR200 mode, the measured read speed can reach 178.46MB/s, slightly lower than the nominal value, and the write speed is 160.79MB/s, higher than the nominal value.
Next is the test performance of the PG Saturn series SA256A/512A/1TB high-speed professional memory card in ATTO. Using a common card reader and exFAT file system, the highest write and read speeds of the memory card appeared at a file size of 256MB, with a write speed of 152.61MB/s, slightly lower than the nominal speed, and a read speed of 169.26MB/s, slightly lower than the nominal speed.
Then we conducted AS SSD Benchmark testing, with a read speed of 169.66MB/s and a write speed of 154.22MB/s, which is basically the same as the data from the previous round of testing. From the test results, the stability of this memory card is still very good.
Real machine testing
Both ATTO and Blackmagic Disk Speed Test are theoretical testing software that cannot fully reflect the performance of memory cards, especially when continuously writing photos and videos. Next, let's take a look at the performance of PG high-speed professional memory cards in practical use scenarios.
Firstly, let's talk about actual computer testing. The PG Saturn series SA256A/512A/1TB ultra high speed TF card also performs well, with a transfer speed of 147MB/s, which can be said to be extremely outstanding. Many friends may ask why such tests are conducted. As a memory card, isn't it enough to store things?
We have to talk about its compatibility. In addition to smartphones, it can also serve as a memory card for cameras, camcorders, dash cams, drones, and other devices, which involves file transfer. Insufficient performance of the memory card can lead to slower data processing speed and waste of time. The PG Saturn series ultra fast TF cards have fast read and write speeds, greatly improving our efficiency.
The next test is conducted on the Panasonic S1H video camera, which is equipped with a 24MP full frame CMOS image sensor and can achieve a continuous shooting speed of up to 9FPS, supporting up to 6K24P video. The test is divided into two parts of video recording and continuous shooting of photos. The memory card is installed in camera slot 1 (supporting SDC II) through an accompanying SD adapter.
In the second continuous shooting test under the camera, S1H takes RAW+JPG format photos at the highest continuous shooting speed of 9FPS until the cache is insufficient to stop shooting, and records the time required from the start of shooting to writing all photos. During the entire continuous shooting process, the camera captured a total of 68 photos and generated 136 files with a total capacity of 2.7GB. Writing took a total of 1 minute and 10 seconds from the beginning to the end of the shooting, with an average write speed of 152MB/s.
From the test results, it can be seen that whether taking continuous photos or recording videos, the actual write speed of PG Saturn series high-speed professional memory cards is much higher than the V30 standard.
Of course, nowadays people may use it more as storage for home monitoring devices. Although current monitoring supports cloud storage, the cost is relatively high, so it is better to choose a high-speed memory card.
Alternatively, it can be inserted into the driving recorder at home. Friends who have cars at home know that if the card selection is not good, the driving recorder will keep prompting "Please choose a high-speed memory card".
Moreover, it supports V30 video level, which provides a unique speed advantage during video shooting. If you think 256GB is still not enough to meet your needs, there are also 512GB and 1TB , which I believe can meet your daily storage needs.
The main feature of PG Saturn series ultra high speed TF cards is that they can read and write data faster, providing higher data transfer speed, which is very important for devices and applications that need to process large amounts of data, such as taking high-resolution photos, recording high-definition videos, and running large applications. In modern digital devices, high-speed TF cards have become an indispensable part, providing us with more convenience and possibilities for our digital lives.
